Articulating Artistic Research: Language and Poetics
🗓️ Wednesday, 24 June — 12:10pm
- 1:10pm
(60 mins)
Abstract
This session investigates how artistic research through language and poetics opens new critical and creative possibilities. Panelists will explore the anti-hegemonic potential of concepts, words, and languages in their practices; examine poetry as an autonomous form of artistic research with its own methodologies; discuss how the meaning of words shifts and is misappropriated, such as terms stolen from the Anti-Fascist Dictionary by the far right; and consider how loose conceptualism can guide and counter tendencies of pinning down, emphasizing the potentiality of movements across figures, media, and historical moments. The conversation will also address the delegitimization of the human condition as cultural bonds between corporeality and language dissolve.
